Block printing is a traditional art form of textile printing which has turned out to be the best ever trending textile in the fashion industry. The techniques applied by the craftsmen during the Block Printing Procedure are given below –
Discharge Printing: In this discharge printing technique, the fabric is dipped in color and then the particular area on which design is to be created. Then it reacts with a chemical to make it fade from that specific area and thus the faded portion is colored again in different colors. The process leaves a unique special effect of block printing in textile.
Regular Direct Printing: The most common technique which is applied on the fabric to get amazing block prints. The cotton or silk fabric is firstly processed under the bleaching process so far as to increase the absorbing power of tie and dye then their grayish color is removed by giving it a yellowish tinge. The cloth is then left for drying and the block prints are created on the fabric by wooden blocks. Initially, the outline is created using intricately carved wooden blocks with using black ink on it and then other details are applied with different colors.
Resist Printing: The name of printing states, the color is applied with the resistant factor to color by applying a mixture of resin and clay on it. The color or dye is then applied to the rest of fabric which leaves with roll designs are used for beautiful Block Printing art.
